Create a New Map (Create a Custom Map)

To create your own Map, click on “Create Map” in the sidebar menu, which will display the Map page, where you can configure your Map to load on your Product Locator.

Placement of Map – Initializing the Location with Some Additional Handy Tools #

• The built-in smart feature of WP Maps enables you to define your map using multiple ways. It is more innovative, dynamic, and accurate. It is movable, panoramic, and has ultra-zoom features. Integrated with powerful tools to let you choose any location around the globe.
• You can set the location in multiple ways. Once you have chosen your intended location, you can set it as your “default location”. This means whenever the map will appear, it will be embarked from the default location.
• The appearance or design can be highly modified with handy customize options. Either define your map through navigation or set the longitudinal and latitudinal coordinates externally.

Placement of Map: Initializing the Location by Geolocation #

The easiest way to define your location is by fetching your real location. In other words, you can set your current real location by fetching geolocation. Geolocation works as a radar that tracks by using internal GPS or network routing addresses.

Map Drawing Overlays #

Overlays are the objects on the map that can be drawn on the map in specific locations, the basic overlays shapes are Polyline, Polygon, Rectangle, Circle, and Arrow, these shapes are tied to latitude/longitude coordinates, so they move with the pan of the map.

Using Overlay Tools to Design Your Map #

You can embellish your map with more features to look ostentatious by using drawing overlay tools. From tag marks to shapes, you can come up with unique ideas with these tools and techniques. Some of the handy tools are markers, polylines, circle markers, different shapes, and much more.

Embellish the Customized Layers with More Enhanced Functionality #

For creative minds, there are even more features like changing color or choosing between different overlay shapes. Curtailing the limitations of designing a map.

Map Tiles #

WP Maps map tiles enable it to revolve around a set of different map styles which elicits through the cartography vectors. By this technique, the map is displayed in a browser by persistently joining individually requested vector data files or images over the internet. It seamlessly displays according to your desired map tiles. For the list of map tiles, refer to figure 6.

WP Maps is replete with many features and curtailed every obstacle which was previously nearly impossible to explicitly transform map layouts.

Change the Graphical Look and Feel of the Map #

Here is the list of various map tiles integrated into WP Maps. Every tile has its own characteristics and works differently. You can choose any in between from basic to satellite view. The list includes many of the renowned as well as latest map tiles including Mapbox, Google Maps, Esri, and more.

Annex the Tiles with Variations #

You can embellish your map with the nuance of variants, which comes with the Map Tiles innately. It is one of the coolest features of WP Maps in that it provides complete options to transform not just the panorama but also the most diminutive part of your virtual store.

Save Map #

Once you’re done, don’t forget to save your map!

You can create interminable maps with WP Maps and have complete control of the look and feel of not just only maps but the whole virtual store.

You can find the complete list of your maps in the maps selection where you can search, delete or edit all of your maps.
